What a tiring day. Today was flight day, where I would try to stay with my regular schedule then fly off to Las Vegas, land at 11pm at night then try to do my regular show the next morning at 8:00am. I swear Iʻm going to be completely off tomorrow.
Wasnʻt feeling really excited to go today, only because I knew I was going without my family. My wife and son are staying home because of school. He needs to be doing a little better (son r u listening?!) Maybe next time. This is the first time Iʻm going extended travel without them so I feel strange a little down.
On the way to the airport, my wife made puppy dog eyes and asked how many days. I felt bad and said 4. She looked at me and smiled and said "Well honey, that means you have 4 days to gamble and make money for me!!" She laughed and smiled and wished me good luck. At that moment I was suddenly excited to go.
I saw the airline services crew from Aloha Airlines who work the checkins and boarding for Omni Air International which we are flying because weʻre with Vacations Hawaiʻi. With the events of the last couple of weeks, they donʻt know how long they will be working, or where there next paycheck will come, or who will be signing it. I felt so bad for them...yet they were there to greet us and send us on our way to Vegas with Aloha and a smile. We could all learn from them. Hope everyone is going to go to the Block Party on Friday night.
Once we got on our OAI flight, I got to share seats with Val and Dan Manabe who are from Newtown (Aiea). They are headed to the dollar poker slot machines. They usually go twice a year but since they are Hawaiian 105 KINE winners, theyʻre here a 3rd time this year (they already have bookings for June...wow that sounds good...my wife canʻt wait to come over in July)!
Itʻs going to be challenging. I have to find internet, get todays show together, I MISSED AMERICAN IDOL :P~
