Aloha!  As always, when things get really hectic, the first thing to go are the blogs; sorry bout that!  Itʻs been non-stop ever since I got back from Las Vegas.  Was really excited for Micheal Harris, producer/director-extraodinairewho won an Emmy for his work with Lantern Floating Hawaiʻi that was done in May of last year; aired on KGMB9.  Maya Perry and I were hosts on the show.  Heʻs also the director of "Sunrise on KGMB9".

He is truly one of the most amazing people that Iʻve had the pleasure of working with.  Itʻs an opinion that is shared by many in the tv industry here in Hawaiʻi.  Very excited for him.

KGMB9 also racked up an Emmy Award with fellow "Sunriser" Steve Uyehara for his and Liz Chunʻs work on "The June Jones Show" last year.  KGMB9 at 10pm won for best newscast.  KGMB9 also won the overall Best Performance which takes into consideration all aspects of television news; from news, local programming, the web, and promotion throughout 2007, beating out stations in Hawaiʻi, San Francisco, Fresno, and Sacramento. Hope you had a good Motherʻs Day Weekend.  My wife was away which should have been good for her, she was away on a business trip.  All she did was call us and tell us how quiet the hotel was, how big the room was without us there.  I laughed and told her I guess it wasnʻt a good Mothers Day then...she laughed and said the ONLY good thing is she slept plenty cause there wasnʻt anything else to do at the time.
Tomorrow itʻs off to Pearl Harbor for the Pearl Harbor Shipyard 100th Birthday.  Iʻll be emceeing along with KCCN FM 100ʻs own Lina Girl.  Itʻs closed to the public, with the only public event happening with an exhibit and speakers at the Ala Moana Hotel today.  Congrats to all those who work there today and those who have given so much in the past.  Find out more with Steve Uyeharaʻs Story on the PHSY on KGMB9.
