![]() Eric Gilliom In 1989, Eric began landing roles on the Broadway stage for such producers as Debbie Allen and Jerome Robbins. He appeared in 35 musicals, 26 dramas and 13 works of Shakespeare, including the lead role in Hamlet. Following his passion for music, Eric became lead singer of an LA based band that featured saxophonist Dave Koz in 1992. A few years later he recorded his first solo album, the critically acclaimed “Into the Mystic”. It was followed up with the equally popular “Like Chow Fun”. Eric has performed with Hawaiian music superstars Keali’i Reichel, his sister Amy Hanaiali’i Gilliom and Barry Flanagan of HAPA - all Grammy nominees. As a solo artist he has opened up for such legends as Al Jarreau, Earl Klugh and Bobby Caldwell, among others. Eric is also a gifted comedian and was hand picked by Jamie Foxx in 2003 to appear as a featured writer/performer for the variety show of the same name, The Jamie Foxx Show. His late grandmother is Hawaiian entertainment royalty Jennie “Napua” Woodd, who choreographed and starred in over 200 Hollywood films and TV shows along side the Marx Brothers, Shirley Temple, The Ink Spots and many others. Eric is currently hard at work developing television and film projects and is manager of a Maui-based entertainment company, Malama Pono Productions. Together with his partner Uncle Willie K -also a Grammy nominee - the duo is exploring new musical horizons with their self-titled debut album, “Barefoot Natives”. Their second CD is out in stores now! |
